Introduction: Thinking of returning to education and feeling anxious about how you might get on? Then this refresher course might be right for you. This programme will refresh those core skills you have and will help if you wish to progress further in education. The key core skills covered are:
· Communications
· Computers
· Maths
Duration: 12 Weeks
Why Communications?
In order to benefit from education you must be able to ask questions and to put your point of view across. Listening is an active part of learning and a key skill which will enhance your learning experience. The Communications module is an excellent foundation subject which can help you to develop writing, reading and listening skills so that you can progress with confidence to the next level.
Why Computers?
This module will provide you with the skills needed to be able to work on assignments , reports and projects. You will learn how to use the internet as a research tool, to stay in touch with others and to share information.
Why Maths?
All courses delivered at FETAC level 4 and above have a maths element. For example in Healthcare you may be required to measure medications and weigh patients. Working in childcare would require assisting children with numbers. Studying business would require business calculations, spreadsheets, payroll, accounts etc. While working in horticulture you may be required to measure area and volumes. This maths course would rebuild your maths ability and give you the confidence to progress.
