Co. Waterford VEC is responsible for administering the School Transport Scheme in Co. Waterford. The C.E.O. assists Bus Éireann by acting as Transport Liaison Officer for the county. There are agreed catchment areas for second level schools. If a chosen school is within the catchment area in which a student resides and is 4.8 km or more from his/her home, the student will be eligible for school transport. If the chosen school is outside of the catchment area in which the student resides, he/she will not normally be eligible for school transport. However, the student may be accommodated on a term-to-term basis if there is room on the relevant bus. School Transport forms are sent to the VEC offices at the end of February of each year. The forms are then sent to all post-primary Schools in the county. Forms can be acquired from the post-primary schools and from the VEC office from February onwards. These forms must be completed fully and signed by the relevant school Principal before forwarding to the VEC Office (School Transport Section) for routing and processing. Completed school transport forms for 2010/11 should be returned to the VEC office by Friday March 19th 2010. Pupil Category - Annual Charge Eligible Post Primary - €300 Please Note:
