Mary Kett congratulated all the award recipients on their achievement and encouraged them to continue with their learning.
'For adults returning to learning it is not easy, as they have so many other commitments to fulfil whether its juggling a job or children' commented Mary Walsh, Adult Education Officer, as she congratulated those receiving awards for the hard work that they and their tutors put into the courses which they study in County Waterford VEC's Educational Centres.
Having received her full FETAC Level 3 General Learning Award, Jean Kelly from the Tramore Learning Group gave an insight into what returning to learning means for an adult learner. 'We learn because we want to, we learn from our tutors and the other learners in our classes. I have made so many new friends, it is wonderful.' said Jean.
Mr. Paddy Lavelle, CEO, spoke of how he was delighted to see a large number of people who received awards last year returning this year to add to their qualifications. County Waterford VEC through its many schools and centres throughout the County offers a wide range of courses through the Back to Education, VTOS, Community and Basic Adult Learning Schemes.
