Adult Literacy

The Co. Waterford Adult Basic Education Service offers a range of opportunities for adults who wish to return to learning and improve their reading, writing, numeracy or English language skills.

The service can provide help with the following on a one-to-one basis or within a small group.

Spelling
Writing
Listening
Vocabulary
Reading
Speaking

Numbers
Money and budgeting
Numbers
Basic Maths
Help with children's homework

Technology
Basic Computers
Driver Theory Preparation
Graphic Communication

Courses include:

• FETAC Level 3, communication, maths
• Intensive Tuition in ABE (ITABE)
• Literacy Support
• Family Learning
• Workplace Basic Education
• English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)

Tuition is provided in small groups or on a one-to-one basis, it is free of charge, supportive, private and confidential. Students can choose what they wish to learn and they do so at their own pace. Classes are provided both during the day and in the evening. Our staff are available to help and guide you towards suitable learning opportunities at the most appropriate level for you. Classes are available in Tramore, Dungarvan, Lismore and from time to time in various communities throughout the County of Waterford.
